This past Saturday, I coordinated a service day through the Stanford Beyond the Farm Day of Service and the Blackstone Parks Conservancy in order to clear out invasive species in this local conservation area. We removed a large section of garlic mustard along the road, as well as burning bush and bittersweet in further into the forested area. There were many helpful local volunteers, and we worked all morning to clear out the area and make room for new, native growth, before the plants would have their released seeds.
