The Saturday before Earth Day, The Croft School, The Pawtucket Parks and Recreation Department, and Hike to the Future put together an Earth Day cleanup for elementary school students and their families. It happened to be a rainy day again, but we had a strong turnout of determined kids and parents who managed to fill many trash bags with trash along the Ten Mile River Greenway at Slater Park. It is inspiring to see how a variety of people, including the next generation, can make a small yet important difference in a local space in nature.
